NTC wants sharia as ‘main’ source of Libya’s legislation
THE outgoing National Transitional Council (NTC) in Libya
yesterday said that Islamic law (sharia) should be the “main” source of
legislation and that this should not be subject to a referendum.
“The Libyan people are attached to Islam, as a religion and legislation,” NTC spokesman, Saleh Daroub, said, reading from a statement.
“As such, the National Transitional Council recommends that the (next) congress make sharia the main source of legislation.
“And this should not be subject to a referendum,” he added, speaking to journalists in Tripoli.

There is no remorse in Zabiuddin Ansari alias Abu Jindal Hamza, the
Indian national who has confessed to being in the control room in
Karachi during the 2008 terror siege of Mumbai, say investigators,
describing him as an intensely devout man who believes he did his
"religious duty".
The Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) terrorist from Beed in Maharashtra has confessed to being amongst those directing the 10 Pakistani terrorists who docked in Mumbai on the night of Nov 26, 2008 and unleashed mayhem till Nov 28, sources in the investigation team said.

(Reuters) - A 30-year-old woman and two of her children were beheaded
overnight in Afghanistan's east, police said, in what appeared to be the
latest in a rapidly growing trend of so-called honour killings.Police said they suspected the woman Serata's divorced husband of barging into her house in the capital of Ghazni province and murdering her, alongside their eight-year-old son and nine-year-old daughter.
"The children saw the killer take their mother's head off, so he killed them too," a local policeman told Reuters, adding that the attacker had spared Sereta's two-year-old daughter.
